2012 saw cats take over the internet, Grumpy Cat in particular. Now with his own website, Grumpy Cat became an internet sensation on 22 September, 2012 after her photo was posted on Reddit.

Mr Ridiculously Photogenic Guy

If you didn’t see this meme in 2012 you must have been living under a rock. Zeddie Little was running in the 2012 Cooper River Bridge Run when computer programmer Will King snapped a photograph of him. He uplaoded it to Facebook and Flickr where one of his friends named Zeddie ‘Mr Ridiculously Photogenic Guy’. King then uploaded the picture onto Reddit with the caption “My friend calls him ‘Mr Ridiculously Photogenic Guy’”.

It was the day after when Mashable began turning it into a meme phase, posting this image:
