Today is Sunday. But No Ordinary Sunday.

Usually, on a Sunday I’d do my Weekly Roundup, yes? Well, not today. This week I’m taking a break and going away meaning the next few posts will be pre-written.

Today, I’m going to discuss why this Sunday is a very…extraordinary day.

Ladies and gentlemen, buckle your seatbelts, grab a beer and make sure you’re wearing nice underwear because you’ll be taking a break from working like a dog whilst reading this post.

Today is:

International Beer Day, National Underwear Day and Work Like A Dog Day!

In honour of this special day, 5th August 2012, I am writing a brief introduction to each of today’s three celebrations.

International Beer Day

5th August marks International Beer Day, a global celebration of beer taking place in pubs, breweries and back gardens worldwide. It’s a day for those who love beer to raise their pints to the brewers and bartenders of this world and rejoice in the greatness of beer!

Every 5th of August, lovers, sellers and makers of beer now have another reason to pour another pint along with the hundreds of bars, restaurants, pubs and breweries celebrating International Beer Day.

Not only is the purpose of International Beer Day to celebrate beer and the men and women who brew and serve it, it is also a day to gather with friends and unite the world together under the banner of beer by celebraing the beers of every nation and culture together on one remarkable day. It is a chance to let the breweries and bars know how much you appreciate them whilst participating in the act of drinking beer.

Happy International Beer Day!

National Underwear Day

You can read all about National Underwear Day here simply because I suppose it is pretty self-explanatory.

Happy National Underwear Day!

Work Like A Dog Day

Work Like A Dog Day is a day to show recognition and appreciation to those who work hard.
In my opinion, there are three types of workers in this world: 1) The one’s who do as little as possible, 2) the ones who do what they are required to do and 3) those who go above and beyond or ‘work like a dog’.

“We want to make sure to differentiate between “Work-A-Holics” and those who “Work Like a Dog”. Work-A-Holics are always working, even though they may not be working hard. Those who work like a dog, work very hard while they are working. But, they do not work all of the time.” Work Like A Dog Day Website
